More than a decade ago, a 1999 story on sustainability in Beauty Packaging magazine addressed the fact that over the previous 10 years, brands had begun responding to consumers’ awakening to the importance of protecting the environment. The future consumers, kids graduating high school now, were raised on a different set of‘the three R’s’: reduce, reuse, recycle,  warning that marketers must either adapt or die.
