You are switching your packaging to TUBES, and have no idea on where to start? Here is some basic information for you.
Key details to settle for your tube packaging.
1.Tube Structure
You will need to figure out what type of cosmetic tubes to fill your product. Make sure the container suits from the perspective of compatibility, aesthetic, etc.
Common options of tube packaging type are PE tubes, laminated tubes. I have listed below details to help you find out which type is best suit for you.
a.PE tubes: mono-layer(2 layers) tube, multi-layers (5 layers) tube
-Mono layer PE tube
Materials: PE
It is suitable for common skin care products, or products with short shelf life, such as cleanser, cream, shampoo, lotion, essence, conditioner, etc.
-Multi-layers PE tube
Material: PE/Adhesive/EVOH/Adhesive/PE
Suitable for products with irritating or volatile ingredient, or functional products like acne treatment, sunblock product, whiten cleanser, foundation, aloe gel, food, etc.
The materials for PE tubes are all plastic; this means they are recyclable with a high percentage rate.
b.Laminated tubes: PBL tube, ABL tube and HGL tube.
Laminated tubes are strong on printing, able to print those complicated graphic that PE tube’s unable to achieve.
Material: 1. PE/adhesive/EVOH/adhesive/PE ; 2. PE/adhesive/PE/adhesive/PE
If you pay great attention on sustainability, but your design is too complicated to print on PE tube, then PBL tube is your best option. It is available for 2 types of barriers. And sure, EVOH barrier has stronger barrier function than PE barrier.
Material: PE/Adhesive/Aluminum/Adhesive/PE
Best barrier function among other plastic tubes. It also brings metallic look while can be printed in 12 colors with vivid effect, which is suitable for a wide range of products, such as face cleanser, make-up foundation, anti-sun cream, jam and ointment packaging, etc.
-HGL (high glossy laminated) tube
Material: PE/adhesive/VMPET/adhesive/PE
It appeals the best metal luster with internal material VMPET, looks shinny which is a popular trend in recent years.
Based on above, if your product is not as irritant as product like dermatitis cream and design is not complicated, then PE cosmetic tubes will be a good choice, it’s the most common used refillable tube packaging type with moderate cost, especially now that Auber is able to print complicated graphic on PE tubes with digital film.
If you are seeking for squeeze tube packaging with metallic luster, or your product requires strong protection, then you may go with ABL tube. Customers choose HGL tube because they favor its shinny effect.
