With COOL stuffs being popular, metallic effect continues to show on lots of cosmetic packaging look. My last article was about holographic effect on cosmetic tube packaging; if you don’t know it yet, click HERE to check it out.
What if you want your packaging with metallic factor but in a traditional way?
Maybe try metallic colors printing.
I am pretty sure I’ve been seeing more tube packaging designs with metallic colors printing this year. To not reveal our overseas client’s privacy, I’d like to show some cases here from our domestic client’s design.
Metallic colors offset printing
This is probably the cheapest way to get metallic effect. So far, we have done silver offset and gold one. This is two basic metallic colors. As we know, offset print touches smooth/flat, it is a rather thin ink, so I wouldn’t suggest colored tubes to apply metallic colors since it’s easy to impact the metallic color because of the reflection of the tube color. White tube is the best suite.
Metallic colors silkscreen printing
Due to the embossing of silkscreen print, you are able to apply it on any tube packaging colors. This is a more common way than offset, and obviously more premium. Your choices on the color could be more flexible. The most common ones are gold, silver, and bronze. You can even choose from Pantone chart, the metallic sector. Supplier can adjust the color based on it as long as they have the require ink.
