The invisible value makes the difference of cosmetics packaging prices

If you are a buyer or been worked in supply chain, I am sure this scene is familiar to you: you sent out a same RFQ to several suppliers but received different price in different levels.
How do you usually deal with this condition?
Sometime, when my customer feedback that our price is higher than the one they get from the other cosmetic packaging suppliers, I’d explained in several ways including how we control our tube quality. While today, I’d like to share you the information about the outsource part: tube closure, the cap.
1. Same look different weight
9.7g VS 7.5g
The heavy one cap A is our item, and B is a random cap in market. They literally look the same from appearance.
2. Same look different quality
This is my experience with S, there’s a supplier promised short lead time on an acrylic cap but when the pre-production sample tubes arrived, their caps fail apart.
3. Same look different production control
For cap component, the quality usually depends on the tooling. A good tooling makes a superior cap. While there’s also certain measures that superior suppliers do to achieve a better product. E.g. we got suppliers that use particular holders during production to protect the caps from scratching.

There’s a saying in China as “一分钱一分货”, it means: You get what you pay for. I am not suggesting you should always choose the high price. The importance is to choose what’s suitable and which the best is for you. Like a lot clients find our price reasonable based on our quality plus service, while some choose cost over service.
