Although it is effective to reduce a few plastic after charging for theplastic bags in shopping malls, stores and convenient shops and drinking straws are banned. The consumption of plastic packaging still appliesthe most part of the increasing plastic, including vegetables, milk powder, frozen goods and mineral water. Thus, people can save a plastic bag when they go shopping but they may take 10 plastic bags home.
So a more useful way to solve this problem is to collect taxes from manufacturers and factories, which can encourage them to develop sustainable packing, such as biodegradable plastics.

According to a research, the packaging of 90% of goods is made of plastic which can be recycled but is not biodegradable. Disposable plastic bags are prohibited in supermarkets, drug stores and department shops even though customers are willing to spend money on them in some countries. As it was reported that plastic garbage is transported to Malaysia and other countries, disposable plastic consumption became an argument. Due to the prohibition that plastic waste should not be banned, most plastic waste is conveyed to Malaysia so Malaysia is considered to be the biggest plastic waste yard.

In terms of the replacement of plastic, it is not sustainable to use banana leaves to wrap vegetables since there is something wrong with banana leaves. It is not the only solution so manufacturers have to look for a more sustainable measure. In order to achieve the goal, laws and policies should be issued. Someone said that the private sector, like manufacturers, ought to shoulder the responsibility to explore biodegradable plastic substitutes because it uses plastic packaging most commonly.
First of all, enterprises must decrease waste of producing and consumption. Besides, they should pay for the bill to manage post-consumer garbage,ie, plastic rubbish. In addition, it is also a good way to reduce the usage of disposable plastic products, packing, and finally, plastic pollution by redesigning the systems of products, packaging and transportation.
Governments reduce the usage of disposable plastic packaging or forbid it through laws as it is impossible to “recycle” plastic pollution all over the world. Prohibiting toxicants in plastic should be the priority for governments as these chemical substances are the prevention for people to reuse plastic in an environmentally-friendly way.
